Before you are in a position to use the adapter, you first have to install the Netgear application and drivers from the CD. After installation of the software and drivers, connect the adapter to your PC and allow it to load.
This entire process should take about 2 minutes in a average PC. After loading, the application should ask you to select the network that you wish to connect to.
If you intend to use a hidden network, use the “manually connect to a network” option and setup the connection manually. Once you select your preferred network, the software allows you to view your network status. It allows you to see the signal strength, network MAC address, speed, channel and security.
Your PC should be running on a Intel Pentium processor and have a USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 port . the adapter works with different operating system platforms, i.e. Microsoft windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 (both 32 and 64-bit).

The adapter comes with all you need to establish a fast connection. If your PC has limited USB ports, the 3-foot Wi-Fi extension serves the purpose.
The adjustable antenna (arranging wireless computers) makes it a unique adapter that you can mount to your PC in several different ways. Its compatibility with both the current and future devices makes it worth buying.
